On Monday, November 18th The Refinery will be attending Salesforce’s yearly Dreamforce convention. The annual event is major in the CRM industry and this year’s agenda is so action-packed that it will be taking place across multiple venues in San Francisco including the Moscone Center as well as the following hotels: Westin Market Street, Westin St Francis, Marriott Marquis, Hilton Union Square, InterContinental, and The Palace Hotel. The event kicks off on the morning of Monday, November 18th and runs through Thursday, November 21st.
What is Dreamforce?
Dreamforce is the Cloud’s computing event of the year. It brings together the leaders in cloud computing and acts as an opportunity for these leaders to connect and collaborate with each other, and inspire all-new growth and ideas. It is a highly anticipated event which began in 2003 with about 6,400 people in attendance and has since seen steady growth. This year it is anticipated that some 120,000 people will flock to Dreamforce.
Who Will Be At Dreamforce?
Dreamforce is a unique blend – part business convention, part hip celebration. It is attended by giants in business world such as Facebook’s COO, Sheryl Sandberg; Yahoo’s CEO, Marissa Mayer; Deepak Chopra, founder of The Chopra Foundation; and of course key Salesforce personnel such as CEO Marc Benioff and executive vice president of emerging markets, Vivek Kundra. In addition to these big names in business the event will also attract thousands of executives from companies of all sizes and across countless industries.
However, Dreamforce also packs an important political and social punch. One of the guests will be Haitian Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe. Dr. Susan Desmond-Hellmann, Chancellor of the University of California, San Francisco as well an array of doctors and authors will be present, as will entertainment figures such as Jerry Seinfeld, Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin, and Tony Bennett. The four day conference will also host 27 differents bands and DJs, including headline acts Green Day and Blondie.
What Type of Events and Sessions Will Be Held?
There will be more than 1,250 expert-led sessions across several different key tracks. These tracks include:
-Leadership Pass which explores innovation and customer company transformation.
-Developer Zone which will include 200+ sessions dedicated to building mobile and enterprise apps.
-Small Business Experience which will help small businesses connect with customers in new ways.
-AppExchange Partner Zone which will feature live demos and a mobile app showcase.
-Unusual Thinkers where renowned medical research university, UCSF, will help attendees think differently about their health.
In addition to these great tracks and panel sessions there will also be a massive hackathon event held. Hackers will compete to develop the next killer mobile app for the Salesforce Platform and the winner will receive the largest-ever hackathon prize in history: $1,000,000.

-Small & Medium sized businesses with panelists from Salesforce, Inspirato, Carlo’s Bakery, Movember, and Zero Motorcycles.
-Salesforce’s Mobile Strategy with panelists from Salesforce, L’Oreal, and ADP.
-Salesforce Chatter with panelists from Salesforce, Nestle, Unilever, and HP.
-Salesforce’s Developer Strategy with speakers from Salesforce’s innovative development team.
